Rain, rain, go away…come again another day! Given California’s historic drought, we were supposed to be thankful for the precipitation, but setting up and breaking camp in the rain is no fun. Then, once set up, you are waging a constant battle against mud being tracked into the trailer, etc. The Morgan Hill campground is in the beautiful central California wine country, but we will remember it as two weeks of being soaked.
We will also remember the drive to Morgan Hill as being one of the longest ever. See our “Worst ‘Drive'” post for more info about our adventure.
Once we made it to Morgan Hill, we tried to get out of the rain by engaging in various indoor activities, such as ice skating at the San Jose Sharks practice facility, or going to the Tech Museum in San Jose. We also ventured north to Windsor, CA, a neat town in the wine country, to visit family and do a little redwood hiking (in the rain). We also stopped by the Charles M.Schulz museum in Santa Rosa (he wrote the Peanuts comics), and Ethan and Ben also drove to Santa Cruz and participated in a day-long outdoor survival class. We did so much, but the first thing we remember is the rain!
